My sincere condolences to Mrs. Pellegrino, Laura, and Diane.
Gino was my friend since childhood. Living only a few block away we were very close as kids. I have great memories of playing fast pitch behind cypress road school with Gino and other kids from the neighborhood. Growing up in the 70's and 80's we were outdoors all the time, riding bicycles everywhere. Swimming at Darlington park in the summer. Nighttime fishing for catfish at the local pond and laughing and joking all the time. I also remember building some pretty cool "forts" and wreaking a little havoc along the way. His Dad (Patsy) would bring us to Sons of Italy picnics in Tuxedo and he used to make his own wine that we sampled on more than one occasion. His Mom (Ada) an amazing cook, always offered the most delicious food to all of us kids. We were neighborhood, we were family. Gino was a talented carpenter and could fix anything. He was smart. If you were his friend, he had your back no questions asked.
RIP my friend.

Dear Mrs. Pellegrino (Ada), Laura, and Diane,

My sincerest condolences to all of you. I am so sorry to hear this. Gino and I grew up together in Suffern. Although I hadn't seen him in recent years, we crossed paths from time to time, usually in a social setting. He always had a smile and a handshake and was as glad to see me as I was to see him. We'd have a few laughs, the kind that can only come from the shared experiences we had growing up. Plenty of "back in the day stories". I have nothing but the fondest memories of our elementary school years. Make no mistake, we were usually up to some kind of mischief, along with some other kids in the neighborhood. From the fireworks up at Cypress Road School, getting chased around, building forts, riding our bicycles anywhere and everywhere, mini bikes, mopeds, you name it. We sometimes used to tag along with his Dad (RIP Pasquale) when he went to a construction or masonry job, and we earned a few bucks for helping out (or just not getting in the way). Always some great cooking going on at the Pellegrino household. We knew his Mom (Ada) had some delicious Italian food on the stove and we would never go away hungry! Gino invited a few of us to the seasonal events up at the Sons of Italy Lodge in Tuxedo, which was really fun. My deepest prayers and sympathies to the entire Pellegrino family. Rest in Peace Gino.
